Description
Glyceryl Trinitrate (Nitroglycerin) Tablets
Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of rapid-response coronary vasodilators. We provide high-stability Glyceryl Trinitrate (GTN) Tablets (Sublingual and Sustained Release), sourced from WHO–GMP certified solid dosage facilities. This “Angina Rescue” agent is a top export to emergency rooms, cardiology clinics, and geriatric care units in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as the immediate first-line intervention for acute chest pain (Angina Pectoris).
Product Overview
This formulation contains Glyceryl Trinitrate (GTN), a volatile organic nitrate.
The “Instant Relief” Specialist:
- Mechanism: GTN is a prodrug that is converted in the vascular smooth muscle into Nitric Oxide (NO). NO activates guanylate cyclase, increasing cGMP, which triggers immediate relaxation of smooth muscle fibers.
- Venous Dilation (Preload): Its primary action is relaxing the veins. This causes blood to pool in the body, reducing the volume of blood returning to the heart. This lowers the workload and oxygen demand of the heart muscle.
- Arterial Dilation (Afterload): It also dilates coronary arteries, improving oxygen supply to ischemic areas of the heart.
- Sublingual Speed: Because the liver destroys GTN rapidly (high first-pass metabolism), the Sublingual Tablet is placed under the tongue to bypass the liver, entering the bloodstream directly for relief within 1–3 minutes.

Manufacturing Authority
Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.
- Volatility & Migration (Critical): GTN is volatile (it evaporates). It also migrates into standard plastics (PVC blisters), leaving the tablet with zero potency within weeks. We typically use Amber Glass Bottles with metal screw caps or specialized Cold Form Alu-Alu blisters to trap the vapors and ensure potency.
- Safety Handling: Pure GTN is an explosive. We utilize Diluted GTN (triturated with lactose) in explosion-proof manufacturing zones to ensure safety while maintaining precise dosage uniformity.
Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)
Indicated for the management of Ischemic Heart Disease:
- Acute Angina Pectoris: Immediate relief of chest pain triggered by exertion or stress (Sublingual).
- Prophylaxis: Prevention of angina attacks when taken before activities likely to cause pain (Sublingual) or for long-term control (SR Tablets).
- Unstable Angina: Adjunctive therapy in acute coronary syndromes.
Dosage & Administration
Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Cardiologist):
- Acute Attack (Sublingual 0.5 mg):
- Sit down immediately (to prevent fainting).
- Place one tablet under the tongue. Do not chew or swallow.
- If pain persists after 5 minutes, take a second tablet.
- If pain persists after another 5 minutes, take a third tablet.
- Emergency: If pain persists after 3 tablets (15 mins), seek immediate emergency medical help (suspected Heart Attack).
- Maintenance (SR 2.6 mg / 6.4 mg): Swallow whole with water. usually twice daily.
- Nitrate Free Interval: To prevent tolerance, ensure a 10–12 hour nitrate-free period daily (usually at night).
Safety Warnings:
- PDE5 Inhibitor Interaction (FATAL): ABSOLUTELY CONTRAINDICATED with Sildenafil (Viagra), Tadalafil, or Vardenafil. Combining these drugs causes a catastrophic, potentially fatal drop in blood pressure.
- Headache: A “throbbing nitrate headache” is extremely common. It indicates the drug is working (vasodilation) and usually subsides with use.
- Hypotension: Causes dizziness upon standing. Patients should sit down when taking the sublingual dose.
- Storage: Patients must be warned to keep the bottle tightly closed. If the tablets stop causing a tingling sensation under the tongue, they may have lost potency.
