Description

Imipramine Hydrochloride Tablets

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of foundational Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCAs). We provide high-purity Imipramine Hydrochloride Tablets, sourced from WHO–GMP certified solid dosage facilities. This “First-in-Class” mood stabilizer is a top export to psychiatric institutions, pediatric clinics, and government health tenders in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as a dual-purpose agent for treating major depression and childhood bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis).

Product Overview

This formulation contains Imipramine Hydrochloride, the prototype tricyclic antidepressant from which all others were developed.

The “Mood & Bladder” Specialist:

  • Neurotransmitter Balance: Imipramine works by inhibiting the reuptake of Norepinephrine and Serotonin at the nerve synapse. Increasing the levels of these neurotransmitters elevates mood, improves physical activity, and normalizes sleep patterns in depressed patients.
  • Anticholinergic Action (Bedwetting): It has a strong anticholinergic effect which relaxes the detrusor muscle of the bladder and tightens the sphincter. This increases the bladder’s capacity to hold urine and prevents involuntary contractions during sleep, making it highly effective for **Nocturnal Enuresis**.
  • Sleep Architecture: Helps restore normal sleep cycles in patients suffering from depressive insomnia.

Product Composition & Strength

We supply this product as Sugar Coated Tablets (often Red or Blue) to effectively mask the intensely bitter and numbing taste of the API.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Coating Technology: Imipramine HCl is extremely bitter and causes a numbing sensation on the tongue. We use a multi-layer sugar coating process to ensure the tablet is swallowed intact, ensuring patient compliance, especially in children.
  • Dissolution Stability: The coating is engineered to be robust enough for tropical climates but soluble enough to release the drug promptly in the stomach.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the management of:

  • Major Depressive Disorder: Treatment of symptoms of endogenous depression.
  • Nocturnal Enuresis (Bedwetting): Temporary adjunctive therapy in children aged 6 years and older, particularly when organic causes have been excluded.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Psychiatrist/Pediatrician):

  • Route: Oral.
  • Depression (Adults): Initially 25 mg three times daily. Dose may be increased gradually to 150 mg/day based on tolerance.
  • Nocturnal Enuresis (Children > 6 yrs):
    • 6–12 years: 25 mg once daily.
    • > 12 years: Up to 50 mg or 75 mg once daily.
  • Timing: For bedwetting, the dose should be taken 1 hour before bedtime. For depression, divided doses or a single bedtime dose (to utilize sedative effect) is common.

Safety Warnings:

  • Suicide Risk: Like all antidepressants, may increase the risk of suicidal thinking in young adults during the initial treatment phase. Monitoring is mandatory.
  • Cardiac Toxicity: High doses can cause arrhythmias and QT prolongation. Use with extreme caution in patients with cardiovascular disease.
  • Anticholinergic Effects: Dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, and urinary retention are common side effects.
  • Withdrawal: Do not discontinue abruptly; taper slowly to avoid cholinergic rebound (nausea/headache).
