Description

Acyclovir Tablets

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of specific antiviral agents. We provide high-purity Acyclovir Tablets, sourced from WHO–GMP certified solid dosage facilities. This “Viral DNA Blocker” is a top export to dermatology clinics, sexual health centers, and government disease control programs in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as the first-line defense against Herpes Simplex and Varicella-Zoster virus infections.

Product Overview

This formulation contains Acyclovir, a synthetic purine nucleoside analogue.

The “Selective Antiviral” Specialist:

  • Bio-Activation (High Selectivity): Acyclovir is a “smart drug” that remains inactive in healthy cells. It is only converted into its active form (Acyclovir Triphosphate) inside cells infected by the virus, using the virus’s own enzyme (Thymidine Kinase). This results in extremely low toxicity to normal human cells.
  • Chain Termination: Once active, it integrates into the growing viral DNA chain and terminates synthesis, effectively stopping the virus from replicating.
  • Healing Accelerator: Significantly reduces the duration of acute outbreaks, reduces pain, and speeds up the healing of lesions (blisters/sores).
  • Viral Shedding: Reduces the period during which the patient is infectious to others.

  • Bioavailability Enhancement: Acyclovir has naturally poor oral absorption (15-30%). We utilize Micronized API (reduced particle size) and specific disintegration promoters to maximize dissolution rates and ensure therapeutic blood levels are reached.
  • Dispersibility: Our 400mg and 800mg dispersible tablets are designed to dissolve rapidly in water, aiding elderly patients or children with Chickenpox who have difficulty swallowing large pills.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the treatment of viral infections:

  • Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV): Treatment of initial and recurrent genital herpes and cold sores (Herpes Labialis).
  • Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV): Treatment of Chickenpox (Varicella) and Shingles (Herpes Zoster).
  • Prophylaxis: Prevention of HSV reactivation in immunocompromised patients (e.g., HIV positive or transplant recipients).

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

  • Route: Oral.
  • Genital Herpes (Initial): 200 mg every 4 hours (5 times daily) for 10 days.
  • Shingles (Herpes Zoster): 800 mg every 4 hours (5 times daily) for 7–10 days. Must start within 72 hours of rash onset.
  • Chickenpox: 800 mg (Adults) or 20 mg/kg (Children) 4 times daily for 5 days.
  • Hydration (Critical): Patients must drink plenty of water to prevent the drug from crystallizing in the kidneys.

Safety Warnings:

  • Renal Impairment: Acyclovir is excreted via kidneys. Dosage MUST be reduced in patients with kidney disease to avoid neurotoxicity (confusion, hallucinations).
  • CNS Effects: Elderly patients are more prone to neurological side effects (agitation, tremors).
  • Pregnancy: Often used in pregnancy (Category B) for severe outbreaks, but only under strict medical supervision.
