Description

Carvedilol Tablets

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of “Third-Generation” cardiovascular agents. We provide high-purity Carvedilol Tablets, sourced from WHO–GMP certified solid dosage facilities. This “Vasodilating Beta-Blocker” is a top export to heart failure clinics, cardiology departments, and government health tenders in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, recognized as the gold standard for reducing mortality and hospitalization in patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).

Product Overview

This formulation contains Carvedilol, a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocking agent with alpha-1 blocking activity.

The “Comprehensive Heart Shield” Specialist:

  • Dual Mechanism (The “Alpha-Beta” Advantage): Unlike traditional beta-blockers (like Atenolol) which only slow the heart, Carvedilol has a dual action:
    • Beta-Blockade (β1 & β2): Blocks the effects of adrenaline on the heart, slowing the heart rate and reducing the force of contraction. This lowers the heart’s oxygen demand.
    • Alpha-Blockade (α1): Blocks alpha receptors in the blood vessels, causing peripheral vasodilation. This relaxes arteries and lowers blood pressure (afterload) without the “rebound” reflex tachycardia often seen with other vasodilators.
  • Antioxidant Activity: Carvedilol and its metabolites possess potent antioxidant and anti-proliferative properties, which protect blood vessel walls from damage and prevent cardiac remodeling (enlargement) after a heart attack.
  • Metabolic Neutrality: Unlike older beta-blockers, it has a minimal negative impact on lipid profiles (cholesterol) and insulin sensitivity.

Product Composition & Strength

We supply this product as Film Coated Tablets. Because therapy for Heart Failure requires very precise “low dose” initiation, we offer the full titration range.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Dose Uniformity: The 3.125 mg tablet contains a very small amount of active drug. We utilize high-shear granulation and geometric blending to ensuring uniform distribution, guaranteeing that patients starting therapy receive the exact safe dose needed to prevent hemodynamic collapse.
  • Photostability: Carvedilol degrades when exposed to light. Our tablets are film-coated with UV-protective agents (Titanium Dioxide/Iron Oxides) and packed in opaque blisters.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the management of cardiovascular conditions:

  • Heart Failure (CHF): Treatment of mild-to-severe chronic heart failure (usually added to ACE inhibitors/Diuretics) to increase survival and reduce hospitalization.
  • Left Ventricular Dysfunction (LVD): Following a myocardial infarction (Heart Attack) to improve survival.
  • Hypertension: Management of essential hypertension (often used when other agents fail or co-morbidities exist).

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Cardiologist – “Start Low, Go Slow”):

  • Route: Oral.
  • Heart Failure:
    • Initial: 3.125 mg twice daily for 2 weeks.
    • Titration: If tolerated, double the dose every 2 weeks to 6.25 mg, then 12.5 mg, then 25 mg twice daily.
    • Max Dose: 25 mg twice daily (<85kg body weight) or 50 mg twice daily (>85kg).
  • Hypertension: Start 6.25 mg twice daily; titrate to 12.5 mg or 25 mg as needed.
  • Administration: Must be taken with food to slow absorption and minimize the risk of orthostatic hypotension (dizziness upon standing).

Safety Warnings:

  • Bronchospasm (Asthma): Because it blocks Beta-2 receptors, Carvedilol can constrict airways. Contraindicated in Asthma or severe COPD.
  • Hypotension: The alpha-blocking effect can cause low blood pressure, especially after the first dose. Patients should avoid driving initially.
  • Diabetes Masking: Can mask the symptoms of hypoglycemia (like tremors and racing heart), though sweating usually remains visible.
  • Withdrawal: Do not stop abruptly; can precipitate angina or heart attack. Taper over 1-2 weeks.
