Product Overview
Ceftriaxone is a Broad-Spectrum 3rd Generation Cephalosporin with a high degree of stability against beta-lactamases. Its long elimination half-life allows for convenient Once-Daily Dosing.
It is the “First-Line Hospital Antibiotic” for:
- Meningitis: Excellent penetration into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
- Respiratory Infections: Severe community-acquired pneumonia and hospital-acquired pneumonia.

Therapeutic Indications
Indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms:

Dosage & Administration
Strict Medical Supervision Required (Hospital Use):
- Adults: 1 gm to 2 gm once daily (Every 24 hours). Total daily dose should not exceed 4 gm.
- Pediatrics: 50 to 75 mg/kg body weight once daily.
- Meningitis: 100 mg/kg (not to exceed 4 gm) once daily.
- Gonorrhea: Single IM dose of 250 mg.
- Reconstitution: Reconstitute with Sterile Water for Injection (IV) or 1% Lidocaine (IM only).
Important Warning:
- Calcium Incompatibility: Do not mix or administer simultaneously with Calcium-containing solutions (e.g., Ringer’s Lactate, TPN) due to risk of precipitation in lungs/kidneys (Fatal in neonates).
