Product Overview
Levofloxacin is the L-isomer of Ofloxacin, possessing twice the activity of the parent compound. It acts as a rapid bactericidal agent by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase IV.
It is the “Antibiotic of Choice” for:
- Respiratory Infections: Severe Pneumonia, Bronchitis, and CRD (Chronic Respiratory Disease).
- Gram-Positive Activity: Superior efficacy against Streptococcus and Staphylococcus compared to older fluoroquinolones.
- Resistant Bacteria: Effective against pathogens resistant to Beta-lactams and Aminoglycosides.

Dosage & Administration
General Guidelines (As per Vet Prescription):
- Cattle/Buffalo: 2.5 mg to 5 mg per kg body weight (approx. 1ml per 20-40 kg).
- Sheep/Goat: 1ml per 20 kg body weight.
- Route: Deep Intramuscular (IM) or Slow Intravenous (IV).
- Frequency: Once daily for 3 to 5 days.
Precautions:
- Withdrawal Period: Meat: 28 days. Milk: 7 days.
- Young Animals: Use with caution in young growing animals (cartilage development).
