Product Overview
Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) IV is a non-opioid Analgesic and Antipyretic. The intravenous route provides an onset of pain relief within 5-10 minutes and peak effect within 1 hour.
It is the “Standard of Care” for:
- Post-Operative Pain: Effective for moderate pain management after surgery, reducing the need for opioids.
- Rapid Fever Reduction: Urgent treatment of hyperthermia when the oral route is not feasible (e.g., unconscious or vomiting patients).
- Multimodal Analgesia: Synergistic effect when combined with NSAIDs or Opioids.

Therapeutic Indications
Indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate pain, especially following surgery, and for the short-term treatment of fever, when administration by the intravenous route is clinically justified by:
- Urgent need to treat pain or hyperthermia.
- Pain or hyperthermia where other routes of administration are not possible.
Dosage & Administration
Strict Medical Supervision Required (Hospital Use):
- Adults (>50 kg): 1000 mg (100 ml vial) every 6 hours or every 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 4000 mg.
- Adults (<50 kg) & Children: 15 mg/kg body weight per dose.
- Administration: Intravenous infusion over 15 minutes.
- Renal Impairment: Dosage adjustment required for severe renal insufficiency (CrCl < 30 ml/min).
Warnings:
- Overdose: Risk of liver damage (Hepatotoxicity) exceeds that of oral forms due to rapid bioavailability. Do not exceed recommended dose.
- Color: Do not use if the solution is discolored (pink/brown) or contains precipitate.
