Description

Verapamil Hydrochloride Tablets

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of cardio-selective calcium channel blockers. We provide high-quality Verapamil Hydrochloride Tablets, sourced from WHO–GMP certified solid dosage facilities. This “Rate-Controlling” anti-arrhythmic and anti-hypertensive agent is a top export to cardiac care units, pharmacy chains, and hospital formularies in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as a first-line therapy for managing heart rhythm disorders and stable angina.

Product Overview

This formulation contains Verapamil Hydrochloride, a non-dihydropyridine (Non-DHP) Calcium Channel Blocker (Class IV Antiarrhythmic).

The “Rhythm & Pressure” Specialist:

  • Dual Action: Unlike Amlodipine (which only dilates vessels), Verapamil acts on both the blood vessels (vasodilation) and the heart muscle (myocardium).
  • Rate Control: Specifically targets the AV node in the heart to slow down the heart rate, making it highly effective for Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) and atrial fibrillation.
  • Oxygen Sparing: Reduces the heart’s workload and oxygen demand, providing relief from Angina Pectoris (chest pain).
  • Cluster Headaches: Often used off-label as a preventative medication for cluster headaches.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Matrix Technology (SR): Our Sustained Release (SR) variants use a hydrophilic matrix system that swells upon contact with gastric fluid, releasing the drug slowly over 12-24 hours to prevent rapid drops in blood pressure.
  • Light Protection: Verapamil is sensitive to light. Our film coating and opaque blister packaging ensure stability throughout the shelf life.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for cardiovascular management:

  • Hypertension: Management of essential hypertension (often in patients who cannot tolerate beta-blockers).
  • Angina Pectoris: Chronic stable angina and vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina.
  • Arrhythmias: Control of rapid ventricular rate in atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation; prophylaxis of repetitive paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT).

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Cardiologist/Physician):

  • Route: Oral.
  • Immediate Release: Usually 40 mg to 80 mg taken 3 times daily.
  • Sustained Release: Usually 120 mg to 240 mg taken once or twice daily.
  • Timing: Should be taken with food to minimize gastric irritation.

Safety Warnings:

  • Constipation: The most common side effect of Verapamil. Patients should increase fiber and fluid intake.
  • Bradycardia: Can slow the heart rate significantly. Pulse monitoring is recommended.
  • Contraindications: Do NOT use in patients with severe Left Ventricular Dysfunction (Heart Failure) or 2nd/3rd degree AV block.
  • Drug Interaction: Increases Digoxin levels significantly.
